The design of a closed loop economy of composites requires a holistic approach and consequently the cooperation of researchers from different disciplines and the direct relation of research and practice. Not only optimized and recycling-friendly constructions of innovative materials and newly developed proceedings for further processing play an important role, but economical and sociopolitical factors have to be considered to reach acceptance and awareness. In practice, developers, architects, craftsmen, end-users of buildings, actors in the waste management and recycling industries as well as standards institutes and certification authorities are involved.
For this reason, Verbund.NRW aims at qualifying young researchers to carefully consider holistic problems from different point of views and to cope with distinct forms of knowledge and work.
