At a workshop on E-Waste Management - Issues & Challenges in Chennai, Adjan Hansen-Ampah, PhD student at the Chair of Sociology of Technology and Organization, explained his innovation model for electronic products and the resulting waste in an online presentation in the panel “Impact & Assessment of e-Waste on Environment and Society”. The developed technology independent Social Innovation Model (SIM) integrates for the first time the use and the end of the life cycle phases of innovations and at the same time captures the corresponding heterogeneous, life cycle phase specific social networks.
